Pureen Stock Clearance Promotion (29th & 30th Nov 2008)

The fast approaching Christmas season seems to bring out more cheer for parents and parents to be. Summit Company (M) Sdn Bhd is holding yet another warehouse clearance promotion this coming weekend. Among others, the products available are baby diapers, baby apparels, baby toiletries and baby accessories.

I have not been this sale before but I heard that it could quite packed and crowded. From comments that I have heard, there are some good buys available but be prepared for the crowd and ques. I am not one who would normally go for such sales because of the crowd, difficulties in finding a parking and the long que that I might have to endure at the payment counter.

However, if you are interested to check it out, here are the details:-

Address : Lot 6, Jalan 19/1, 46300 Petaling Jaya (Located opposite Vitagen)

He is outgrowing his car seat....

Baby,Babynme,Chicco,Car Seat Ryan has been using a hand-me-down Peg Perego infant car seat. We are working hard to train him to sit still in the car seat while travelling for obvious safety reasons. Lately, I have noticed that it is getting more and more difficult to get him out from the car seat. He is outgrowing it. The paed said during the last checkup that his length is above average which is probably why it has become increasingly uncomfortable for him.

Like any first time parents I presumed, we have no idea what is a good, safe, reliable and value for money car seat. There are apparently so many brands, types and models in the market that it can be rather confusing.

All I know is that I am looking for a car seat that is safe, comfortable, not too hot (Ryan is one hot baby. His sweats easily), and value for money where he could use it for as long as he possibly can. I understand that there are some models that caters for newborns right up to the age of 4 years (depending on the weight of the baby). Of course, it has to look `cool' in my car!

Just read in the STAR today that CHICCO is launching a new car seat at the Robinsons, The Gardens Mid Valley City this coming Saturday (8th November 2008) at 2pm. Apparently, there is a 20% discount for all CHICCO car seats and free gift to all attendants. It looks like to The Gardens, we will go this Saturday. We have been going out almost every weekend for the last couple of weeks. I believe Ryan's mommy is happier that Ryan. Hahaha....

Any comments or advice from any experienced parent out there to help out this clueless daddy as to how to source for a good car seat for Ryan?

And to those who are also looking to change or buy a new car seat for your baby, it might be good to check out this deal. See you there......

Warehouse Sale for My Dear Products

baby, babynme, baby products,my dear My Dear Baby and Children products Warehouse Sale is BACK! When we were preparing for Ryan's arrival, we read about it in the newspaper and drove there a day after the election. It was rather scary because the election results were being announced amidst fears of riots and here we were, totally lost in some industrial area in Puchong! But fears were replaced with sheer excitement when we finally found the place because there were so many bargains that would definitely interest any expecting parents.

We didn't walk away empty handed. We bought a Playpen as well as a baby carrier that Ryan's is currently still using. We were tempted to buy other stuff such as strollers (fortunately, we didn't because we got a COMBI from a friend) and baby car seat. We have a hand-me-down baby car seat from a friend and Ryan is fast out-growing it. I guess we might just make a trip there and see whether we could get any good bargains.

It would be much easier now as we knew the important landmark would be George Kent factory. Else, we could still trust our GPS to get us there again.

See you there!

A bit of an `Uncle' Everyday

Ran out of milk powder the other day. Wow! It was like yesterday that we bought that tin. He is on breast milk mostly at night and will only take milk powder when he is with his nanny or when we go out. Can't imagine what if he is fully on milk powder. Anyway, it is time again to go shopping and the prices of baby formula is exorbitant! He is on Enfalac A+ now. I was checking every hyper mart, medical hall, pharmacy or superstore that I was at and mentally taking note of the price and trying hard to compare to the last price checked. I found that the price for a tin of 900g Enfalac A+ varies from RM58.90 to as high as RM69 at different outlets! Can you imagine spending an additional RM10 per tin if I had not checked or compared the prices! I bought 3 tins immediately at RM58.90 at the Pasaraya MegaHerbs and Food Sdn Bhd located at Taman Megah,Petaling Jaya. (..and I did check the expiry date and it's 2010)
And suddenly it dawns on me that I am becoming more careful when it comes to spending, or, many would probably said that I'm becoming more `Uncle' or `Auntie'. I guess unconsciously, the amount of money that we have spent on Ryan and are still spending has made us more prudent. It's definitely financially heavy to bring up a baby especially with today's escalating cost and expenses. I am not sure how much we have already spend on him but i am certain that it's going to cost A LOT MORE! Emmm....maybe I'll compile a list of items that we have spent preparing for his arrival and his daily expenses now...I guess many would be parents or young couples might put off the idea of starting a family once they look at that list! Hehe.....
For those who are already expecting, congratulations and too bad...there is no turning back. Just got to be more `Auntie' or `Uncle' like me and march on. Watch out for the hot deals that I'll try to update this blog from time to time, and share with the rest of us if you have a better deal somewhere. I'm sure all of us here (me definitely) will be grateful.......:)
