Reclaiming Our Master Bed!

Tonight, I shall reclaim my master bed.

Ryan has been sleeping with us on the master bed from his second month. He was sleeping in his baby cot prior to that. After his infection in his second month, we have moved him onto our bed (right in the middle between my wife and I) in order for us to keep an eye on him during the night. He has been there ever since.

As he grows older, he is beginning to occupy more and more space. Every night, he is like a helicopter, turning and turning. By 3am in the morning, his butt will be in my face on some nights, or I will wake up with his face right before my face. Besides the fear of crushing him, no knowing when his fragile hands or legs would be next to me, I am also loosing my space to sleep. Needless to say, to grab a `romantic' moment with my wife is rather challenging, to say the least.

I have decided that I am not going to be `kicked out' from my own bed to sleep on a thin mattress on the floor while he happily `conquer' and `occupy' my space.

Since, the babysitter is on half day leave today and I have to take care of Ryan myself, I have moved the baby cot back into our room and successfully put him to sleep in his own bed. The real test is tonight, when I have to get him to sleep soundly through the night on his bed. And hope that my wife would not compromise by putting him back onto our bed in the middle of the night if he cries. Wish me luck......

I really hope it works... *fingers crossed* cos' we tried that too, but because I was breastfeeding them, I got sick of getting up, reaching down the baby cot, pick them up, after feed, put them down in the cot....too tiring... so we eventually shifted them back to the bed....

Hmm, should be fine. Wawa have been co-sleep with me and hubby ever since birth! I only put him on his cot when I'm at IL's. AT mom's, wawa sleep with me and hubby will sleep on d floor..no choice, just like Ryan, wawa will turn like helicopter. And since we have no baby cot at my mom's. Hubby have to sleep on the floor whenever we at my mom's.

Wawa like to be in his cot, cause he used to sleep inside the cot when he is at daycare. Just that the cot was too small for him to turn,LOL.

Anyway, I hope you success in switching Ryan to the cot. Good Luck!

If this not work, then u may try putting a queen mattress next to your bed, once he fall asleep, the mummy can go back to her master bed.

in fact i dislike using bb cot coz need to get up, pick them up and put back if they cry or need to feed. It's tiring lar...so I still think co-sleep is the better solution for myself.

Good luck!

We tried that too but my baby kept of waking up every 30 minutes and keep me up too the whole night bec you cannot go back to sleep asap.

So we co-sleep our baby until today, sad to say we dont have our own bonding time in bed with hubby.

Just good luck to you, hope you will be able to move to his own place so you'll hv time with your wifey.

Good luck Daddy! I also face the asame prob as coz nowadays Ashton will want to move to our "master bed" around 2am like that. He doesn't wanna slp in his own bb cot eventhough it's in our room. So now hubby have to slp next door if he wanna hv peaceful slp otherwise it will be very "cramped" on the master bed if 3 of us were to slp together as Ashton will always do his "wiggly and turning" dance when he slp with us. The next moment his head will be on our feet, or on our stomach..!

When my daughter was born, we bought another bed :) She only slept on her cot when she took her nap during the day.
I hope you were successful in putting Ryan to sleep last night.

Hi ladies. Thanks for the visit and comments. Although we gave Ryan BM, my wife does not BF him directly. We will still give him in a bottle. Hence, not much problem. Anyway, he normally only wake up once at around 4 to 5am for his feed most of the time. Sometimes, he might even sleep through. Anyway, it is me to who would be getting up to prepare the feed. Even if he sleep with us, I still have to prepare the feed, feed him and then put him back to sleep.
